Lord, don't you care?

How many times have we Christians seen the letters WWJD? They mean "What Would Jesus Do?" But if you notice, the christians who use this phrase tend to be pretty limited in the things they thing that Jesus would do. <-- clunky sentence, but you know what I mean.

Okay, here is a "what would jesus do moment?"

We have moments when we are so stressed we can only shout out to God, "Don't you care?" The disciples also snapped at Jesus and said the same thing. Now, in modern times, whenever we hear sermons about this talked incident the minister generally ends with us saying "We shouldn't fall apart. God is taking care of us."

I believe that is true. But we really must ponder what Jesus said? HE said, "Why are you so afraid? Don't you have any faith?"
So what does he mean? Faith in God? Faith in ourselves? Faith in the holy spirit working in us? Faith in the word of God when he tells us to go and do something?

Mark 4:35-41

35And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
36And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
37And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
38And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
41And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

I truly think that sometimes Jesus means for us to still the storm. By speaking the Word of God to it. God helps us often when we step out in faith and do just what Jesus would do. But whenever people start talking about "What would Jesus Do?" they often get all sentimental. They talk about Jesus' kind heart. Jesus wouldn't judge. Or they talk about Jesus generosity. Wouldn't Jesus have helped his neighbor? But they often neglect the fact that What Jesus would do often has a lot to do with the showing forth of God's power by speaking the word boldly.
