Psalm 28

Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice." How then do some folks who love God and who are in the word say that they never hear God talking to them? Obviously, either God is deceived or we are. If we think God is silent to us, then we are wrong.

But then why is it we seem NOT to hear? I suspect we are people who dismiss thoughts that come to us. We expect fiery sparks, or a whirlwind, or a tempest. But God answers with a still small voice. He always answers and guides. What wonderful thing to know that someone is listening to us!

Psalm 28

1Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
2Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
3Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
4Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
5Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
6Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
7The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
8The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
9Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.

Yessss! We should be hearing God's voice ~ loud and clear. Often we do, but think it is our own thoughts and dismiss it as such.

Oh I love this thought: God is my strength and my shield...my heart trusted in Him AND I AM HELPED! Amen. We love you Lord and may we always and for ever continue to trust in You.

I am feeling so incredibly weak and off-colour at the moment, and I needed to hear this: The Lord is my strenght.

I am feeling panicky about travelling so far from home, and I felt Him say to me today, through a scripture I was reading: Jesus was saying to the disciples: "Cross over to the other side".
I just started to cry, because I felt that He spoke to my heart to go on the trip and not to be afraid.

Thanks for this post, Carole.
